Immediately loaded implants in compromised sockets

The course will be lectured by Dr Jose Carlos Martins da Rosa.

SUMMARY OF THE COURSE

This is the new version of the IDR course. We named “IDR Xperts” for you that is interested in having the unique IDR course in Europe. We worked intensively to develop a course in which you will be able to apply the IDR technique. We used to teach this course in 2 levels: Level 1 and 2 in 6-days. Now you can develop your skills in 4-days course to learn all the solutions to deal with compromised sockets, from the simplest to the most complex clinical cases. For this, we have created a special hands-on for you to learn how to use all types of maxillary tuberosity (MT) grafts (hard, soft or combined tissue grafts) to treat cases with or without gingival recession and/or loss of papillae in combination with severe bone loss. Are you ready for this?

Thus from now on if you intend to become an IDR Xpert you need only 4-day course with us. We prepared a special new program. This is the most comprehensive course on this topic worldwide. As soon as you finished the training you are ready to apply the IDR technique in your patients. You will be trained from de developer of the IDR technique (Dr José Carlos Martins da Rosa) to deal with compromised sockets regardless of the extension and severity of bone loss using the gold standard bone graft: the MT graft. Dr Rosa has more than 15 years of experience on this topic. We intend to teach you all the possibilities of graft from MT donor graft area as bone and soft tissue grafts. With this new program, participants will be able to perform all the steps of the technique on IDR special models and to achieve the best training ever worldwide on IDR technique. Come to Budapest to live this experience with us.

SUMMARY OF THE COURSE:

Single-tooth replacement in the esthetic zone has been one of the most common indications for dental implant placement. Compromised teeth are removed using atraumatic principles and immediately replaced by an implant-supported provisional restoration, with excellent esthetic, biological, and functional results. However, in cases of compromised sites with bone loss/gingival recessions, the clinical scenario presents a different dilemma. Until now, all developed surgical recommendations required long-term treatment with possible undesirable complications in the tissue architecture.

The Immediate Dentoalveolar Restoration (IDR) is a surgical and prosthetical technique established to broaden indications for immediate loading on individual teeth. In this way, tissue losses with varied extensions are reconstructed in the same surgical session of implant placement and provisional crown installation, reducing the number of interventions and keeping predictability on esthetic aspects. The IDR protocol was developed more than 15 years ago from the need to minimize the treatment time and morbidity of reconstructive procedures used in these cases. In the course we discuss the scientific basis, the step-by-step technique and indications. The IDR technique, which advocates minimally invasive surgery, flapless procedures, is presented as a viable and reproducible alternative. Several clinical cases will be presented showing one or more compromised socket walls of the tooth involved, with or without gingival margin changes, with long-term clinical, radiographic, and CT scan follow-up.

HANDS-ON:

The main goals of the IDR hands-on are: to demonstrate improvement of the practitioner’s management of compromised fresh extraction sockets in the esthetic zone and also in posterior zone; to explain the step-by-step, indications, and advantages of de IDR concept; to describe how to obtain an autogenous bone graft from maxillary tuberosity in the easiest way possible; and to review the management of the graft and complete reconstruction of the alveolar defects. In the IDR hands-on the participants will be able to apply all the steps related to the technique on the IDR models specially developed for this course.
